To those who are close to me or follow along with what's going on with my family or myself outside of just photography you'd know what a rough year this one has panned out to be. Through everything that has happened I can not explain to you how much having these photos to look back on means to me and how grateful I am to be able to look at them whenever I please. This year marked my hubby and I's 5th wedding anniversary and our 10th year together,a heart scare with one of my family members, my daughter started school, we brought a new pet into our family,my little one had her first season of soccer(EVER!) my family lost a very dear family member to cancer, I grew closer to some family and drifted farther apart from others. All in all a very busy year that has shown me if nothing less than the fact that life's too short... not to hold on to grudges or dwell on the past, not to worry for the future and more importantly focus on the now. Don't take a single thing for granted as you may wake up tomorrow and its all gone! I am grateful for the lessons but still find myself reminiscing and missing those from the past. These images I've chosen are my favorite "personal shots" from this year... some may be imperfect but those are the ones I hold closest to my heart!
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my favorites from the past year. I look forward to what 2014 has to offer!
Wow!!! What else can I say? This year has been a total blur for me with its crazy ups and downs. Photography was always just something I thought of as a hobby I never had the confidence that it would become something so much more for me! Thanks to all the amazing support from family and friends taking that jump wasn't nearly as scary as I told myself it was going to be. To all my amazing clients who put their faith in me I can not express my gratitude. Working with everyone has put a new drive and inspiration into me that I can not explain in words. With the year coming to a end I decided what better way to end the year than with showing off my favorite photos from my sessions... Now bear with me I've been having a hard time narrowing them down! I thought that perhaps I could do a "top 13 photos of 2013" post but NOPE!! No way I can narrow it down THAT much, I've decided to split it up! I'll do one post for session favorites and one post for personal favorites! Too many awesome sessions I simply just can not pick only 13 haha! So here we go, I'm thinking we'll go chronologically! ( or as close to as I can manage!)
Despite the fact that our location was being transformed into what is now the festival of lights, and therefore drastically cutting down on the amount of ideas we could have put to the test, we still managed to have a great shoot! I think have such a gorgeous mama to be certainly helped things out! Can't even contain my excitement to do Miss Aubrey's newborn photos within the next few weeks once she makes her grand entrance! Here are some of our favorite photos from our session!
Just last week I had the fantastic opportunity to work with the fabulous Howe family again. The one thing I love more than being able to work with return clients is seeing how much things have changed since our last session! The last time I seen Miss Sophia she wasn't quite sitting up by herself yet and wasn't too impressed by the camera being in her face. This time round little missy has starting walking and talking and was so full of smiles I couldn't even contain myself. It truly is amazing to see the little ones grow! Here are some of my favorites from our mini session! I can't wait to see the cards when they come in! (come on Mother Nature and cooperate for us I should have had them yesterday!)
Here's a pic taken from our first session together and then our most recent one! I'm not joking when I say she's just too much! What a little doll, and no shortage of personality this one will make anyone smile, she's simply infectious!
A couple weeks ago a friend of mine along with her sister and I braved the cold for a wintery snow session! Little did we know just how cold spending a hour out in the snow would actually turn out to be! Despite the shivering, runny noses and various body parts going numb we still managed to have a great session and walk away with some really fun shots! The laughing and end result made it all worth it in the end! Here's some of our favorites from the shoot!
