-Newborn photos must be scheduled the first 4-10 days of little peanut's arrival as they are much easier to keep asleep and work with.
-First rule make the house extra toasty(turn up that heat!) we don't want the little peanut to catch a draft, space heaters and heating pads are a great asset in ensuring baby stays warm throughout our shooting time. We want to make sure baby isn't stressed and is relaxed, warm and cozy.
- We want as much natural light as possible so keep in mind which room in your house allows for the most light for us to work with ( this will have to be the warmest room)
-A sleepy baby makes things much easier so we'll try to schedule around feeding time so baby can feed and doze off. With this being said some things to take into consideration are: have baby in only a diaper and blankie to keep warm during the last feeding and make sure that you undo the diaper before they fall asleep as the noise startles them. This makes a much smoother transition from feeding to posing and getting into starting the photographing process, no need for undressing or disturbing them too much. White noise is a great tool to use in helping those babies getting to sleep and staying asleep, the sound soothes them as it reminds them of being in the womb.
-Be prepared to be very involved! Newborn safety is always first priority so we need to make sure that they are supported the entire time. It takes a few different photos merged together to get those adorable posed shots in order to keep that little peanut safe! With this being said you'll have to help out with being that support, but do not fret as I will be there to guide you!
-Newborns are unpredictable, sometimes they don't always cooperate right off the bat, do not worry as we have up to 4 hours shooting time! This gives us plenty of time to stop for a feeding or snuggles or what ever maybe needed.
-Editing time takes a little longer due to the skin tones, merging photos etc, however I can assure you it is well worth the wait! I will have your gallery up as soon as I possibly can!
- Do not hesitate to incorporate any props that will make your session more personal and unique.
As always if you have any other questions regarding newborn photos don't hesitate to ask!
